He impressed me...

The serenity in his face will leave a million questions in your mind. He carries an aura of peace around him and anyone can easily get drawn into that circle..
He comes from his own unique school of thought and there is a separate sect of the community who are his silent followers and believers.
He is Swami Vivekananda & he impressed me...

I had participated in an essay writing competition during my school days.. We were given a few topics to choose from... I chose him... I couldn't believe my self.. I mean...Moi and books are poles apart..
I just don't have the patience to go and read about someone rambling on and on about something..

But I had to give it up to this man.. He impressed me, pleased me, I read his autobiography and was most most impressed..
He will always have a place in my heart for his simplicity of thought, his calm and composed disposition that just spells patience......( probably cuz thats another quality I lack...loads of patience)..
somethings that I probably would admire in any man...

This is one of his stories....Read on..

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: "You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love.

" This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love ... they try to posses it, they demand, they expect ... and just like the water spilling
out of your hand, love will retrieve from you. For love is meant to be free, you can not change its nature.

If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice.

It is the secret to true love.To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring."

Passing thought .... Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away.

yap, Swami Vivekananda,
Great if not Greatest Religious Ambassador

Like The sun he rised,
and burned.
He was a nectar of love,
Poured out to everyone.
He traveled to foreign land
To spread the message of his country,
the message of Vedanta.
ageless as the land.
His life was his message,
The service for Humanity.
He talked of God,
not in temples
not in mosques
not in churches
but inside us
Across the land he walked
Crushing the veil of servility of his people which divide them
and bound to the servility of love of mankind.
